Fun on the Fairway: Best Games To Play On the Golf Course

Typical 18-hole rounds can eventually become tiring and predictable. For those who want to have fun on the fairway, here are some of the best games to play on the golf course. You can play them with family and friends, so round up some of your favorite individuals and make a day of it.

Six-Six-Six

Six-Six-Six (also known as Sixes, Hollywood, and Round Robin) features four players. At the start of the game, each player pairs with a partner. Partners rotate every six holes. You can use any scoring method that works with two-on-two play (alternate shot, best ball, etc.) The goal of six-six-six is to get as many points as possible. The winner is the person who's been on the winning side of all three matches.

Wolf

Wolf (also known as Wolfman) is a game you can play with either three or four players. The objective is to be the player with the most points at the end of the round.

The teeing order determines who is who. The last player to tee off is the "Wolf," and the rest of the players are the "Hunters". The teeing order rotates on every hole, meaning each player becomes the Wolf every three or four holes.

After each drive, the Wolf needs to make a choice. They can either partner with another golfer and turn the game into a two-on-two match or act as a Lone Wolf, turning the game into a one-on-three match. If the Wolf chooses a partner and they win the hole, both of them receive two points. If they lose the hole, the other players receive three points each. If the Lone Wolf beats everyone else, they get four points, but if they lose, everyone else receives one point each.

Bingo, Bango, Bongo

Are you playing with your buddies and don't want to leave the weaker players out? Then the best game to play on the golf course is Bingo, Bango, Bongo, a game where everyone, regardless of skill level, has a shot at winning. The goal is to have the most points at the end of the round.

  • The first player to get the ball on the green gets the Bingo point
  • The player whose ball is closest to the pin once all balls are on the green gets the Bango point
  • The first player that holes out gets the Bongo point

It's as simple as that!
