Top Celebrities Famous for Absolutely Nothing

Top Celebrities Famous for Absolutely Nothing

Most celebrities have gained notoriety through hard work, talent, and smart career choices, but there are a few mysterious outliers who have gained their fame from doing squat. In a way, they're admirable. They've built a comfortable, lavish life for themselves by doing the bare minimum. At the same time, you can't help but wonder—what exactly are they getting paid for, again? Here are some of the top celebrities famous for absolutely nothing, and what made them gain their questionable celebrity status.

Rebecca Black

Rebecca Black's admirable attempt to enter the music industry at the young age of thirteen went poorly, but gave her enough notoriety to restart her singing career a few years later. Her debut song, “Friday,” went viral—not for being good, but for being so bad that it was labeled as "the worst song ever" by music critics and viewers alike. Everyone thought she'd have her fifteen minutes of fame before vanishing from the public eye, but in 2016, she came back strong, releasing her brand-new single "The Great Divide.”

The Kardashians

The family's celebrity career launched in 2007, when an adult film starring Kim Kardashian and R&B singer Ray J hit the worldwide web. The tape turned into a multi-media empire, including a reality show, a stint on Dancing with the Stars, numerous modeling jobs, and more. Despite plenty of attempts to keep their fame alive, public interest in the Kardashian crew has been fading quite quickly. Their recent controversies—all the Khloe and Tristan drama, for one—have kept the media's interest in them sky-high, but it's hard to call a string of controversial decisions a career.

Michael Lohan

There's no better way to make money than capitalizing off your teenage daughter's success—according to Michael Lohan, that is. The father of Lindsay Lohan is known more for his controversies than anything else. Lohan’s been arrested for insider trading, violating his probation, failing to pay a hotel bill, punching a sanitation worker, domestic abuse... you get the point. It's one thing to coincidentally enter the limelight because you're related to someone famous, but using your newfound publicity to make terrible choices instead of good ones isn't exactly wise.

The Teen Mom Cast

There's nothing quite like glorifying teenage pregnancy. The cast of Teen Mom makes a ridiculous amount of money. It would be one thing if they used their income from the show on their children, but we all know that teenagers can be impulsive with their spending. When you're a regular teen mom, you have it tough. You have to give up schooling and learn to be responsible at a young age. What Teen Mom communicates to younger girls is that all they need to do to get rich and famous is to have a baby. Needless to say, pregnancy is something that teenagers should never, ever be famous for.

Mike Sorrentino

The next person on our list of top celebrities famous for absolutely nothing is Mike Sorrentino, better known as The Situation. The entire cast of Jersey Shore could fall under this list, but out of everyone, Mike Sorrentino deserves this spot the most. His impressive physique gained him more fame than his stint on the show. Apart from some awkward, uncomfortable appearances on The Howard Stern Show, The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, The Jay Leno Show, and more, Sorrentino hasn't been doing much to maintain his celebrity status.

Paris Hilton

Controversial tapes are a surefire way to secure your status as a celebrity, and Paris Hilton was sure to capitalize on that. The would-be heiress to the Hilton hotel fortune went on to star in numerous films. Her role as Paige Edwards in House of Wax netted her a Razzie award for Worst Supporting Actress, and her actions surrounding the 2006 film Pledge This! landed her in court. After serving a 45-day jail sentence for a DUI, Hilton pledged to turn her life around and help others—which didn't last long, to say the least. Deciding to help herself more than others, Hilton has made millions of dollars from selling perfume, clothing, and other products.

Kevin Federline

You might know him as the father to Britney Spears’ two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James. In 2004, Federline went from being an unknown backup dancer to the pop singer's husband. Their marriage was short-lived, and their 2006 divorce was one of the most highly publicized in Hollywood history. Ever since the divorce, Federline's fame has been gradually fading. He continues to make good money from starring in various wrestling shows and Nationwide's "Life Comes at You Fast" ad campaign.

Nicole Ritchie

Nicole Ritchie hasn't been doing much lately. She got married, had a child, and seemingly settled down. What made her famous, again? Not much. Nicole Ritchie's fame comes from being Lionel Ritchie's daughter and Paris Hilton's famous frenemy. Her hit series, The Simple Life, was something to be proud of—but if it weren't for the support of her father, it would have struggled to succeed. Ritchie handles her fame with grace, though, and that's something she should receive credit for. Instead of stirring up controversy, she’s decided to live a respectable, unassuming lifestyle.

Danielle Bregoli

You might vaguely recall her controversial appearance on Dr. Phil, and the rehab, legal issues, and societal backlash that followed. During the segment, "I Want to Give Up My Car-Stealing, Knife-Wielding, Twerking 13-Year-Old Daughter Who Tried To Frame Me for A Crime," Bregoli got into a heated argument with her mother. When the audience laughed at her behavior, she rebutted with the infamous phrase, "Cash me ousside, how bout dah.” Her unique accent quickly turned into a viral meme, which Bregoli used to piggyback her way into success. After suing multiple companies for using her 'signature catchphrase' without permission and being nominated for an MTV award for the phrase, she started to amass a small fortune. Her internet fame has led to a mixed review career as a rapper.
